Wives of shivaji maharaj

Shivaji is the founder of Maratha dynasty[1] and a warrior king of Maharashtra. He is also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Chhatrapati Shivaji was born in the Shivneri Fort in Maharashtra on 19 February 1630.

His father name:: shahaji raje bhosle

Mother name:: jijabai bhosle

He had 8 wives in total.

First of all, he gives the names of all the eight wives of the Maharaja. *

 1.  Saibai
 2.  Sagunabai
 3.  Putlabai
 4.  Lakshmibai
 5.  Sakwarbai
 6.  Kashibai
 7.  Gunavantabai
 8.  Soyarabai

 {There is no concrete evidence in history as to who exactly married Shivaji Maharaj.  But it has definitely happened with one of Sagunabai and Saibai.
 The book 'Shivbharat' written by Kavindra Nevaskar on the orders of Shivaji Maharaj mentions that Maharaj was in Karnataka for the first 12 years.  (The same is mentioned in Sabhasad and Chitragupta Bakhari.) And when he came to Pune, he brought women.  ‘Women’ is definitely more than one.
 Shivaji Maharaj was married to Saibai in 1641, which means Saibai is one of those 'women'.  And according to Shivdigvijaya Bakhari, the second is 'Sagunabai'.  (There is no mention in any other source that Shivaji Maharaj was married to Sagunabai before Saibai, so let us assume that Maharaj's first wife was "Saibai".)}

  1.  Saibai

 Saibai is the youngest daughter of Mudhoji Nimbalkar (Pawar) of Phaltan.  Maher's name is Rajasbai.  This marriage should not have any special purpose.  The Bhosle family had a long association with the Nimbalkar family.

 2.  Sagunabai

 Sagunabai was from Rajeshirke family.  At that time Shirthan was not in the possession of Shirkas.  He was with Adilshah and then came to Shirk.  The advantage of this marriage was that when the Maharaja attacked Shirthana, none of the Shirkas raised their swords against Shivaraya.

 3.  Statubai

 Maharaj's third marriage took place in 1653 with Putlabai, daughter of Vithoji Mohite Amirrao Nevaskar, a resident of Pune.  Sambhaji Mohite (the same mama who was caught by Maharaj for taking bribe at home and then sent to Shahaji Maharaj in Karnataka, the same uncle of Sambhaji Mohite Putlabai.)

  4.  Lakshmibai

 Shivaraya's fourth marriage  It happened secretly during the Jawali campaign in 1656.  Lakshmibai was the daughter of a thinker.  Maher's name is Jayashreebai.  These thoughts were Hanumantrao More of Jawali.  He was the patron dewan and brother of Hanamantrao More Chandrarao More.  The Maharajah had misunderstood that Jawali's surgery would not have taken place without killing him.  He had a beautiful daughter.  Raghunathrao spoke soiriki from Ballalal and killed Vichare by attacking Katyari after getting married.

 5.  Sakwarbai

 Maharaj's fifth marriage was to Krishnaji Gaikwad's daughter Sakwarbai.  Born on 1657.  Krishnaji fort was the gate bank of 'Diwan e Aam' of Rajgad.

  6.  Kashibai

 The Maharaja's sixth marriage took place in April 1657.  Kashibai is the daughter of Santaji Jadhav.  This Santaji Jadhav is the second son of Jijamat's brother Achaloji, Shambhusinh alias Santaji.

 7.  Gunavantabai

 Shivaraya's seventh marriage took place on April 1657 with Shivaji Ingle's daughter Gunavantabai.

 * 8.  Soyarabai

 Shivaraya's eighth and last marriage took place in 1658 in Karnataka with Soyarabai, daughter of Sambhaji Mohite (yes, the same Sambhaji Mohite).
 Soyarabai is the last queen, so how is she the queen of that maharaja?
 As Soyarabai was the youngest but soonest daughter, after Saibai, she was honored as the queen's maiden.
 Maharaj was 28 years old at the time of this marriage and Soyarabaisaheb was 8 years old.  That is why he became Rajaram Maharaj at the age of 40.
